This has already had a wonderful reception and I just want to do my part to help...
Utterly Engaged and EverOurs teamed up to ask bloggers of all kinds to help participate for a fundraiser and blogger's day of silence tomorrow, March 18th, in blog-land and to just tweet and facebook about about donating to the emergency relief in Japan.
Go here for more information and to donate:: ForJapanWithLove
...and it goes directly to ShelterBox for the supplies to give in Japan.
So much has been raised already and I hope SO much more will be given.
Do your part and help by donating...and if you have a blog, tweet or facebook account, please spread the word!

I love how one object can bring so much beauty to a room. It says so much about the people in the home :: so much beauty inside and out.

(02.22.11)

I just posting a lot of photos from our relaxing vacation in Mexico (see below) and thought I would post a teaser with a little contest to go with it. It is super easy and I just want to see who is out there reading our blog. All you have to do is either email or write a comment below and tell me what this is a photograph of and you will get a $75 credit for your next session (session has to be with HCP in 2011). That is it...easy peezy... The first person to write the correct answer (will be based on time stamp) gets the prize.
And...go...
I can't wait to see you.
****** A winner has been determined, BUT let's make it more interesting...
I will also do another drawing for another $75 credit, but will do a random drawing from all the comments through 11:59 p.m. on January 14.
I will use the random number generator on (http://www.random.org/) and use the time stamps on the comments as indicators as to the number the commenter is aligned with. You must leave a comment below or on the hcp facebook page in order to be entered.******
I will announce the winners on Saturday, January 15.
:::Update:::
***Two winners for the $75 credit towards any one photo session with Chowen Photography booked and photographed in 2011: K.Walker & G.Stone
And I LOVE that people commented on this mini-contest and appreciate them following my blog and being active in commenting, everyone else who commented for the contest gets a $50 credit towards any one photo session with Chowen Photography in 2011. Few people commented out of the few hundred people that google analytics showed came to the site over the past couple of days...so out of pure appreciation for the few people posting a comment, I thank you for being so amazing! If you are following my blog, please comment and let me know what you are there as I would LOVE to hear from you...***

My youngest daughter celebrated her third birthday. Sniff sniff. Since we are so new to Denver, we haven't met a lot of kids her age yet, so we had a small family celebration. She did not want the fancy cake I wanted to have made for her. She wanted the Dora and Boots cupcakes. Whatever. Although, in all honesty, I am actually glad she did, because I am sure she will be wanting the fancy cakes soon enough. Cha-ching. Then I flew to Florida to photograph a wonderful family to document their life in between their very busy schedules. I LOVE documenting people's lives. What an honor to be able to do this. I will not be posting these due to privacy reasons, but I went out on my last day there and enjoyed the view and palm trees and had to share an image with you. I really LOVE palm trees for some reason. I really love the beach too. I have to make a plan to get to the beach more. After that, I returned home to finish putting together our home before my sister and mom flew in for a visit. We had so much fun. During all of that, I was in my digital darkroom completing galleries, ordering new products and fulfilling orders. Can you say exhausted? I can't even say it because I have so much more to do. BUT I love every minute of it.
I will share more soon as I have photo shoots over the next few months and then head to Mexico for the holidays in December and New Years. Wait. It is not even Halloween...I should not get ahead of myself. Sorry.
Lots and lots of love.
