I was going through a client's gallery from a past session and couldn't believe I had not posted this gorgeous chandelier yet.

I love how one object can bring so much beauty to a room.  It says so much about the people in the home :: so much beauty inside and out.

It was so much fun watching the girls experience melting crayons for the first time...and to complete a craft that we could hang in the window to fill our home with even more love.

Alana would be so proud of my craftiness. And of course, thank you to the lovely Martha Stewart for the idea.

I will be arriving in Durango, Colorado, this Saturday through late next week (January 15th - 21st) for photo shoots already scheduled.  I have a couple times available if someone else in the Durango area would like to book a session with me.  Please contact me if you are interested as I would love to see as many people as I can while back in my home town.

I just posting a lot of photos from our relaxing vacation in Mexico (see below) and thought I would post a teaser with a little contest to go with it.  It is super easy and I just want to see who is out there reading our blog.  All you have to do is either email or write a comment below and tell me what this is a photograph of and you will get a $75 credit for your next session (session has to be with HCP in 2011).  That is it...easy peezy... The first person to write the correct answer (will be based on time stamp) gets the prize.

Hi!! I am still here...I have just been consumed with making sure all the galleries & orders for my clients were ready before the holidays.  Now to lots of blogging to show you what we have been busy doing.  Then, a lot of new things for heidi chowen photography for the New Year!  I can't wait to share!

I have been absent from the blog this past week and I am going to play catch up in one post!  I will have a lot to put up over the next few months as this is a busy time of year for portraits, so this is a nice break in momentum.  Here is a recap of the past 10 days. 

My youngest daughter celebrated her third birthday. Sniff sniff. Since we are so new to Denver, we haven't met a lot of kids her age yet, so we had a small family celebration. She did not want the fancy cake I wanted to have made for her.  She wanted the Dora and Boots cupcakes.  Whatever.  Although, in all honesty, I am actually glad she did, because I am sure she will be wanting the fancy cakes soon enough. Cha-ching.  Then I flew to Florida to photograph a wonderful family to document their life in between their very busy schedules.  I LOVE documenting people's lives.  What an honor to be able to do this. I will not be posting these due to privacy reasons, but I went out on my last day there and enjoyed the view and palm trees and had to share an image with you.  I really LOVE palm trees for some reason. I really love the beach too. I have to make a plan to get to the beach more. After that, I returned home to finish putting together our home before my sister and mom flew in for a visit. We had so much fun. During all of that, I was in my digital darkroom completing galleries, ordering new products and fulfilling orders. Can you say exhausted?  I can't even say it because I have so much more to do.  BUT I love every minute of it. 

I will share more soon as I have photo shoots over the next few months and then head to Mexico for the holidays in December and New Years. Wait.  It is not even Halloween...I should not get ahead of myself. Sorry.

If I connect with something on an emotional level, then I am inspired.  As I leave for photo shoots back in Durango this week, I wanted to share with you what I look at each day.  I love all forms of art and one is interior design.  We have not had cable for more than 2 years now, so in the mornings I check the news then go for my daily dose of my favorite blog...I choose to live in a fantasy land where love, life and beautiful moments prevail and this blog makes me smile all the time. What I love about interior design is that it incorporates all the forms of art. My husband says I am obsessed with it, and well, I am.  I love this site. My daily does of visual inspiration is on desire to inspire .
